F1 | Ricciardo critical: "Bringing hard tires to Spain I don't think is good for anyone"
The Red Bull driver: "We will use the harder compounds for the first time this year in Barcelona. I don't know if these compounds can help us"
At the next Spanish Grand Prix, Pirelli he chose to bring tires soft, medium and hard. Choice not shared by Daniel Ricciardo, worried about the use of harder tires on the Montmelò circuit. Same choice as last year, in Barcelona we will see the orange tires for the first time this 2017 season.
“We will use the harder compounds for the first time this year in Barcelona. I don't know if these compounds can help us, but I think it's not good for anyone, Ricciardo said as reported by Motorsport.com. “The tires are already hard enough, so the hard tires are too hard. We hope that it will be warm in Barcelona, so the tires will work better, but if it were cold, it would be a problem for everyone", continued the Red Bull driver, believing Pirelli's choice to be wrong, already considering this year's new compounds, which are harder and resistant, longer-lived and less prone to deterioration than in the past.
This comment from the Australian towards the Italian company probably comes from concerns about the arrival of important players updates on Red Bull which should reduce the gap from Mercedes e Ferrari, proved to be more worrying than expected in these first four races of the championship.
