F1 | Renault, Ricciardo second in free practice in Belgium: "We need to confirm ourselves tomorrow"

For Daniel Ricciardo it was an absolutely incredible Friday at Spa-Francorchamps. In free practice for the Belgian Grand Prix, the Australian finished in second position behind only Verstappen and even ahead of Lewis Hamilton. For the former Red Bull it was a day to remember, but as he well knows, starting tomorrow the times will really count, and therefore we must not sit on our laurels. Unfortunately he was unable to take part in the long run due to an undefined problem with his Renault, but there is enthusiasm after today's beautiful day.

“As in the last weekends, FP2 went very well – Ricciardo admitted. We'll have to confirm ourselves tomorrow, that's where it really counts. Very intense day, also due to the problem we had at the end. We stopped the car as a precaution, there was no point in taking risks. Our qualifying lap was very good: I felt good and you know when the car is performing at its best. I knew I was competitive, I wasn't that surprised to be up there on the timesheet. It was a beautiful day, we understood many things."
