F1 | Renault, Ricciardo fourth at Spa: “The last lap was better than my attempt in Q3”

Great race for Daniel Ricciardo, who took fourth place at Spa after a really solid Grand Prix, something not seen for some time for the Australian and Renault. The former Red Bull, excellent at managing the tires especially in the second stint, was the author of the fastest lap of the race in the last available lap. An important injection of confidence also in view of Monza, where the RS20 should continue to perform well.

“What a race, a great result for the team – Ricciardo said. Our pace today was very good and fourth place is great. It's been a while since I set the fastest lap of the race, it was nice. My engineer told me what the current best time was and I said “Ok, got it!”. It was a really great lap: I used the whole track and I succeeded. Maybe it was better than my qualifying lap yesterday. Last year we did well here, and Monza was even better! We'll see what happens, but we can go to Italy with a lot of confidence."
