F1 | Renault, Ricciardo: “We need to understand why the weekend was so difficult”

The French team concluded the Austrian Grand Prix with Daniel Ricciardo's 12th time and Nico Hulkenberg's 13th. Renault struggled throughout the weekend and the drivers want to try to understand what went wrong.

Daniel Ricciardo: “It was certainly a difficult weekend, it was complicated from day one and I struggled with grip. We improved over the course of the race, managing a decent stint on the soft tires at the end of the race but it was probably too late. We need to understand why it was such a difficult weekend. We can improve and I don't feel like criticizing the car so I will also work on myself to try to improve. Something went wrong this weekend, both Nico and I had the same feelings. We will do our best to try to recover."

Nico Hulkenberg: “We can't be happy with this weekend. We had more problems with the car in the race and this made the work difficult. We didn't have a points-worthy car and we didn't have the pace to catch up to anyone. Over the years, Austria has proven to be a rather particular circuit and not suitable for us. We will use this week, analyze the data and see what is happening to make some improvements before Silverstone."
