F1 | Renault, Ocon: “We are competitive”

For Renault it was a very positive day in Spa. The French team, with Ricciardo finishing in second position, also saw Ocon place in the top ten, precisely in eighth place, half a second behind his Australian teammate. The Frenchman is satisfied with what was done during free practice for the Belgian Grand Prix, and is confident regarding the remainder of the weekend.

“Today went well, we seem competitive as a team – Ocon said. We have made a good step forward since Barcelona and I am happy with today's performance. Many things have been understood, we aim to put everything on track tomorrow and Sunday and it looks promising in view of qualifying. It's always nice to do a fuchsia sector, this shows that we have speed. Long runs are difficult to read, especially with the red flag. We might see some cars fill up with fuel tomorrow morning in FP3 to make up some time."
