F1 | Renault, Ocon: “The objective for the second round at the Red Bull Ring is to improve in qualifying”

The first weekend of the season was not particularly easy for Esteban Ocon, who after feeling good in the first two free practice sessions, was unable to repeat himself in qualifying, thus being forced to start from the back. Undoubtedly this, combined with an unfortunate start, did not help the French driver who, however, took advantage of the race episodes and managed to recover up to the points zone.

For the second weekend on the Austrian circuit, the objectives that Ocon has set himself are clear: “We were all happy to be back on track and it was nice to be back fighting for positions. It was one of those races where the important thing was to get to the end. I think there were a lot of positives from that first weekend, our pace in qualifying wasn't bad, and I know that with a clean lap we could have done better and been further up the grid. This is the objective for the second weekend,” said the Frenchman.

“I think Friday's free practice could be different as we already know the tires and the details of the track. We will look to improve in some key areas, to make sure we are ready for both qualifying and the race. I am happy to be back on track as we know that anything can happen in Formula 1 and we want to be in a position to capitalize on every opportunity,” added Ocon.
