F1 | Renault, Ocon: “The changes to the set-up have borne the desired results”

Satisfaction for Esteban Ocon after the first day of free practice for the Italian Grand Prix. In Monza the Frenchman finished in eleventh position, but Renault worked on various aspects without particularly focusing on lap time, one of the sure strengths of the RS20. The Frenchman is confident ahead of the rest of the weekend, and can't wait to start getting serious.

“This day is not important for lap times – Ocon admitted. I am happy with how we managed to complete our program today. It was all quite complicated due to the traffic, so we trained a bit before qualifying. There were some changes to the setup between the two sessions and I felt a noticeable improvement. Overall it was a very normal Friday: even our long runs were consistent and that's very good. Tomorrow we will give more, I can't wait."
