F1 | Renault, Nico Hulkenberg: “We have a good chance for the race”

Things seem to continue to get worse for Renault, which practically missed the third free practice session with both drivers: a hydraulic problem was found on the two single-seaters which forced Nico Hulkenberg and Daniel Ricciardo to stay in the pits for the entire morning session.

The team managed to resolve the problem in time for qualifying, where the two stopped in twelfth and thirteenth position respectively. Not a bad start for tomorrow's race.

"Given the circumstances, we will start twelfth. It was difficult to prepare for qualifying without having raced in the third practice session in the morning, so it was a bit of a cold start for us. The mechanics did a great job to prepare the car in time, so I thank them for their effort” these are the words of Nico Hulkenberg, who remains confident,

"I think we will have a good chance in the race tomorrow, we can choose the starting compound and focus on the strategy. It could work in our favor, as our race pace has looked good recently” added the German.

Immersed in the Mexican spirit is last year's pole man, Daniel Ricciardo, who plans to show off some of his unmistakable moves during the race and have fun in the race for the top 10.

"It's frustrating not to have reached Q3, but there was nothing to be done today. Firstly, the team did a great job to get out of a difficult situation. It wasn't easy out there, but we had a good start in Q1, which was relatively smooth, but Q2 was a disaster. We'll try to do it again tomorrow. I'm very excited!".
