F1 | Renault, another 93 laps for Alonso in Bahrain
The Spaniard finished the two days of testing on the Sakhir track
The second and final day of testing in Bahrain ended today, on the Sakhir track, for Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard, who will return to Formula One next year with Renault which will change its name to Alpine Team, is taking part in various test sessions (in recent weeks he has been busy at Montmeló) to regain feeling with a Formula One single-seater. In fact, braking, he hasn't competed in a GP for almost two years: in fact the last one in his career dates back to 25 November 2018 in Abu Dhabi.
Alonso, as happened yesterday, completed 93 laps. We remind you that the two-time world champion was not able to drive the current Renault, but - as required by the regulations - but the RS18 with which Nico Hulkenberg and Carlos Sainz faced the 2018 World Championship.
It remains to be seen when Alonso will be able to return to the track with Renault. The transalpine team would have liked their standard bearer to participate in the Young Driver Test, which will take place on the Yas Marina Circuit in the days following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but Renault's request was vetoed by some teams.
