F1 | Renault, Hulkenberg on the Malaysian GP: "One of the most challenging races"

Once the trip to Marina Bay was over, which ended with only Jolyon Palmer taking sixth place, with Nico Hulkenberg forced to retire due to hydraulic problems, Renault diverts its attention to the next round of the world championship which will see the Circus engaged in Malaysia – on the Kuala Lumpur track – from 29 September to 1 October.

"It's one of the GPs where we will be pushed to the limit – said Hulkenberg – We have to drink a lot of fluids because we lose a lot of weight during the race. The track is challenging with lots of high-speed corners and fast mixes. I like going to Malaysia. The weather is always different from Europe and it takes some getting used to. Turn 1 is the most difficult to tackle. The final sector is more technical and slower with long curves. With current cars we will reach significant speeds. It's always difficult to find the right balance and tire degradation is high".

"In such humid races I always tend to do well: Malaysia last year, Singapore this year. I can't wait – underlined Palmer – It is a circuit characterized by long sections, fast corners and challenging braking zones. We are confident. The car continues to improve, we want to get a good result. At Sepang I also raced in GP2, even if I didn't have good results. Last year I got my first point in Formula One. There is the possibility of overtaking and we need to make the most of this opportunity. Kuala Lumpur is a really great city to visit, it has a great atmosphere".
