F1 | Renault: Hulkenberg, “We can be satisfied”

Satisfactory qualifying for Nico Hulkenberg who, in front of his audience, managed to finish qualifying for the German Grand Prix in ninth position. Daniel Ricciardo, on the other hand, will have to start from thirteenth position but is ready to fight with the other drivers in the center of the grid. These are the declarations of the Renault drivers.

Nico Hulkenberg: “All in all, we can be satisfied with the effort made today. We knew we were close to Q3, we managed it and that's nice. It was incredible to see how close Q2 was, with Daniel there was a difference of only three hundredths and this was the difference between getting into the top 10 or not. In Q3 I wasn't able to put the lap together and in the end I placed ninth. We could have beaten two or three other cars. Tomorrow I will be ready for anything, nothing is guaranteed with the rain and, as we saw last year, it is difficult here in the wet. We will do our best, whatever happens.".

Daniel Ricardo: “It's frustrating to be on the wrong side in Q2 but it was incredible out there. There were several of us on 12,7 seconds and less than half a tenth would have put me in eighth place. The center grid is fun when we're all this close. But I have to take responsibility, because I know I could have done more. Compared to the morning we made some improvements so it was nice to be close to the top 10. Tomorrow could be nice if it rains but if it's dry we'll be fine.".
