F1 | Renault, Hulkenberg does not rule out a break: "There would be no shame"
On the IndyCar hypothesis he added: "It's not something that attracts me"
Interviewed by Auto Motor Und Sport, Nico Hulkenberg spoke about his future in motorsport, underlining how a forced break from this world is not such an impossible scenario, especially after the latest market developments. The German, we remember, has been linked several times to the DTM championship, with BMW reportedly interested in adding the current Renault driver to its line-up. Nico, however, would have expressed more than a few doubts, postponing the final decision several times. A stalemate that could lead him to stop a season in view of 2021.
“Ovals are not something that appeals to me,” Nico Hulkenberg stated to the German press. “I have a lot of respect for drivers who do it, obviously, but it's not something that appeals to me and a lot of people feel the same way.”
On a possible break in 2020 he added: “There would be no shame. After ten years of activity I would just watch. Or maybe I won't, we'll see."
