F1 | Renault, Hulkenberg: “The balance is good”

Despite the rather adverse weather conditions, the French team completed a satisfactory first day of free practice.

Nico Hulkenberg he finished the first round in eighth position; in the afternoon he completed only one lap:

“FP1 went well. With the threat of rain in the afternoon we worked intensely, testing what we wanted. Everything seemed ok, the balance is good so I'm satisfied. There isn't much to say about the second session, it was raining a lot and we preferred to keep the tires since it should rain tomorrow too".

Fifteenth time for Jolyon Palmer:

“During FP1 there was a lot of traffic but we still managed to try different setups and I think we are in the right direction. It was positive to run in the dry because there will most likely be rain in FP3 too. In the second session the grip was good despite the track being wet but we preferred to save the tires for tomorrow".
