F1 | Renault, Hulkenberg: “Difficult race”

The Monza grand prix was rather complicated for the French team Nico Hulkenberg who finished in thirteenth position and Jolyon Palmer who had to retire after 29 laps.

Hulkenberg entered the pit lane very early but this still did not allow him to recover the positions due to the lack of speed:

“Unfortunately, we weren't able to score any points, the race was quite difficult. As expected, we lost speed and therefore managed to fight with the cars in front of us. I also struggled with the balance so it was a tiring race; There's nothing left for us to do but concentrate on the next race in Singapore.".

Jolyon Palmer he had to retire following a car breakdown but the Englishman had to make a 5-second pit stop for the episode which saw him involved with Fernando Alonso:

“Our strategy seemed to be working, we didn't seem to be strong but there was the potential to still have a decent race. Unfortunately we had a transmission component failure which forced us to withdraw from the race. It's a shame because in the final stages the pace was a little stronger with the Supersofts".
