F1 | Renault, Hulkenberg and Palmer in unison: “Singapore is a difficult track”

Having set aside the unsuccessful weekend in Monza, Renault turns its attention to the next world stage of the season which will see the Circus disembark in Singapore on the Marina Bay city route (15-17 September).

Both drivers from Enstone expressed the various difficulties present in tackling a challenging track, made even more prohibitive by the high temperatures and humidity.

"As a track it is really difficult and physically demanding – said Hulkenberg –  perhaps one of the most difficult in the season, with the presence of numerous bends. The high temperature and humidity, also being a city track, make it very demanding. It is important to be in good physical shape. It's a special race, the only real one night". 

"I love Singapore because it's a unique event that takes place under the spotlight – underlined Palmer – I won there in GP2 and it was one of my best victories. The final sector is very challenging, narrow and tortuous. Getting a perfect ride is tough. The route changes over the course of the weekend, as the sessions take place at different times. It's a different weekend from the others, we wake up later and in the evening we don't have time to go out and about. With the track present in the city center, we don't need any particular trips".
