F1 | Renault, disappointment for Esteban Ocon: “Ready to give everything tomorrow”

Esteban Ocon, like his teammate, was unable to get into Q3: the French driver had to settle for fourteenth position. He will therefore start from the seventh row, next to Alexander Albon and his Red Bull. Renault tried to qualify both of its drivers on yellow tyre, to have an advantage, but the RS20 didn't have enough pace. The two then made one last attempt with red tyre: if Daniel managed to get within a whisker of Q3, Esteban instead paid for a mistake in turn 1 during his timed lap.

"It wasn't a great qualification for us. There are some things we need to review, it seemed like we didn't have enough pace to get into Q3. In particular, I wasn't very happy with the set-up of the car, it wasn't very easy to drive – said Ocon at the end of qualifying – I'm disappointed, obviously, but we have to play it tomorrow. If the track is dry, we will be able to choose the starting compound, while if it rains we will certainly have a good chance".
