F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen on the topic of pollution: “Electric motors? I prefer petrol"

During the last Mexican Grand Prix, the eighteenth round of this 2019 Formula 1 world championship, Max Verstappen spoke on the debate relating to the environment, underlining how electric is not the right path for the future of Formula 1.

According to what the Dutchman declared, in fact, electric propulsion is not yet suitable for a fast and competitive world like Formula 1, an aspect which effectively makes any discussion relating to the environment or pollution futile.

On a personal level, however, Verstappen said he was in favor of petrol and internal combustion units, highlighting how there is a huge gap between these and electric ones from a performance point of view.

“Can I say it? I don't like electric things and I like petrol." said Max Verstappen. “As an electric one I like my scooter at home, but I am of the opinion that it is not good for a Formula 1 car. I know that the environment is very important, but F1 has also existed for a long time and I don't think we should react excessively. We must not make a drama out of it and we must carry on like this. If you don't like it, don't watch it."
