F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen ready for the Brazilian GP: “I hope for a wet race”

Having archived the success in Mexico City, Max Verstappen is ready to throw himself into the next Brazilian Grand Prix, the penultimate round of this 2017 Formula One world championship. The Dutchman, author of a brilliant performance during the last edition (epic overtaking Rosberg on the outside at the first race), is hoping for a wet weekend to repeat the excellent performances of 2016, perhaps challenging Mercedes and Ferrari in a a track that on paper does not favor the two RB13s.

Here are the words of Max Verstappen: “We go to Brazil looking for a good performance like last year. In the wet it was a really fun race that with a little more luck we could have even won. Unfortunately there was a small misunderstanding in the pits, but in the end these are things that can happen in difficult conditions like those of last year. We achieved a good result by coming back from behind and trying to take advantage of every little opportunity that came our way. Personally, I'm hoping for wet conditions given that Interlagos isn't exactly our ideal track, but it will be the same for everyone and so we'll try to focus on the weekend straight away."

“Brazilian fans are fantastic” the Dutchman also added. “The grid is very narrow at Interlagos and we drivers often end up very close to the grandstands. It's truly spectacular to see the warmth of the Brazilians. It's a special, historic weekend for the entire Circus. I hope to repay the many Brazilians who will go to the Autodrome with a nice GP."
