F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen: “We can become champions even with a weaker engine”
According to the young Dutchman, the Renault power unit will not hinder the Milton Keynes team's pursuit of the title
For the 2018 World Cup there is also the Red Bull: after a season marked by ups and downs, the Anglo-Austrian team aims to constantly undermine the duel at the top between Mercedes and Ferrari and to obtain the first world title of the hybrid era. Helmut Marko, consultant for Red Bull, feels that the atmosphere around Milton Keynes has finally changed: “We are ready for 2018” – declared a Sports picture. “In past years we had some technical problems at the start of the season, but now everything is going according to plan. I'm sure we will be competitive from the first test and that we will continue the good streak we had in the last part of 2017.".
Also Max Verstappen, Red Bull driver, has relaunched the challenge in view of the next championship: “I want to get the title as quickly as possible” – declared the Dutchman. Not even the inferiority shown by the Renault engine compared to Mercedes and Ferrari worries Verstappen: "Red Bull can become champion with a slightly weaker engine, as they have already demonstrated four times (with Vettel from 2010 to 2013, ed.)".
