F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen sends his compatriots into raptures on the Zandvoort track
Show by the Dutchman at the wheel of the Red Bull RB8 on the Zandvoort track in front of many compatriots
Before officially kicking off the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, yesterday Max Verstappen was involved in a promotional event on the Dutch track of Zandvoort (now absent from the Formula One world championship calendar since 1985) which literally sent his compatriots into raptures .
Engaged on the track aboard the Red Bull RB8, with which Mark Webber ran the first three races of the 2012 World Championship, the Dutchman honored the crowd with several burnouts and donuts, also unofficially setting the lap record.
"It's great to be here behind the wheel of Red Bull – declared Verstappen – The V8 engine has a special sound, even though it is a different car from what I generally drive. Zandvoort is a great circuit, with the new asphalt there is little grip but the problem of bumps has been eliminated. This is a positive aspect. Compared to last year there are more people, and it's nice to see so many fans. This makes me proud, they are the best fans".
