F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen: “The track is very dirty, but I am satisfied with our work”

Max Verstappen is satisfied with his first day of work in Montreal. The Dutch driver hit the Wall of Champions in the afternoon as he was about to complete his fastest lap, and this caused him to lose a lot of time and resulted in him only being classified thirteenth. Despite this inconvenience he didn't have much to say about the behavior of the car, but he did complain about the very dirty track.

“Free Practice 1 went well, I felt comfortable in the car – admitted Verstappen. Perhaps for those who saw the afternoon session from the outside, you might have thought that it wasn't easy, but from my point of view the car was fine! I wasn't able to finish the lap in FP2, I was unlucky: when I got to the last chicane I was in Pierre's wake and I got unbalanced, hitting the wall. Too bad, we lost some time, but the pace was good. Clearly we want to do more and I think the track didn't favor us either, it was very slippery today, but on the long run we seem competitive, so I'm happy, even if we have to fine-tune something given the time lost. The track is very dirty and I had to use four or five tear offs, when I usually don't use even one, which seems excessive to me, but let's hope that the conditions improve tomorrow."
