F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen: “The final part of the second session went rather well”

Reduced but still positive work for Max Verstappen in Texas: the Red Bull driver coped well under the water in Austin and managed to finish both FP1 and FP2 in 3rd place in the standings. In short, in case of rain during qualifying and the race, the Dutchman will be able to have his say.

“These wet Fridays are always a bit boring” – admitted Verstappen at the end of the day of free practice. “It was important to get out on track to understand our car in these conditions. Even if only for a handful of laps, we tried a few things and collected some data, but it's always difficult in the rain to tell how the car responds to these changes. The final part of the second session went quite well, so if qualifying or the race is wet we hope to be in good shape. I think that after a day like this there are still many unknowns: we just have to do our best in qualifying, whatever the conditions are, and put ourselves in the best position for Sunday.".
