F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen: “The podium was a possible placement”
"It's disappointing, but there's not much I can do about it," he added
Yet another misstep for Max Verstappen on the Montreal track. Despite a good start and second position occupied until the tenth lap, Verstappen was unable to end the weekend in Canada with a good result, suffering yet another technical problem with his Renault power unit. An electrical problem forced the Dutchman to park his RB13 in the first sector, wasting a huge podium opportunity. The objective will now be to focus on the next round in Baku.
Here are the words of Max Verstappen: “The way the race ended was very frustrating for me, especially because after the good start the podium was absolutely possible. As usual, however, we end a race weekend with a handful of flies in our hands. The start was very good, despite a little contact with Vettel. But at the start, these are things that can happen, especially on a narrow circuit like Montreal. Until the retirement I felt good with the car, the tires and brakes were fine and the pace wasn't bad. I was able to keep Bottas behind without any major problems. Unfortunately I lost all the power and had to park the car, ending the race without points. It's a disappointment, but there's not much I can do."
