The Dutchman managed to finish ahead of Leclerc thanks also to Ferrari's suicidal strategy and tried to take the podium in a good fight with Vettel, which was then won by the German.

“It wasn't an easy race, but as a team we did an excellent job – said Verstappen. We had a good strategy to avoid a Ferrari and stay ahead, so the result was maximized once we stayed ahead of Charles. It was fun fighting with Seb, I only had one shot and I tried, but we didn't have enough pace to beat him. I was pushing a lot, all in all we can be happy with the result, but we need even more pace to fight with Mercedes and Ferrari, we are in a good position and we collect a lot of points every Sunday."
