F1 | Red Bull, Verstappen after the tests: “We worked on the problems we had during the weekend”

Max Verstappen ended the first day of testing at the Bahrain circuit in the lead. The Dutch Red Bull driver beat Mick Schumacher at the end with a time of 1:29.379, completing 62 laps. Abnormal climate in Sakhir, with absolute rain being the protagonist for much of this day one. Verstappen is satisfied with what has been done after the problems experienced by the RB15 during the race weekend.

“The track was wet for a while, which is a bit strange, but overall I think we had a good day – said Verstappen. We managed to complete a lot of laps, which helped us better understand our race performance over the weekend and I think we learned a lot, so that's good. We don't have that many days to really understand the car, and during a race weekend everything goes by so quickly, so days like these are very useful. We know what didn't work over the weekend in terms of rear grip, so we tried to work on that and I think we managed to learn a lot."
