F1 | Red Bull, Sergio Perez: “There is still a lot of work to do”
"We still have good potential both for qualifying and for the race" adds the Mexican
Fourth best time at the end of the second free practice session for Sergio Perez. The Mexican seems to have emerged from the negative tunnel into which he had fallen since Monaco Grand Prix, but the last word has not yet been said. There are still two tenths of a gap between him and his teammate Max Verstappen, now unattainable. It's clear that competing with him is starting to become impossible for the Mexican, but other contenders are showing up: Carlos Sainz – winner of the 2022 edition – is only twenty-two thousandths of a second behind on the flying lap, but the RB19 he can still compete on race pace.
Formula 1 | Free practice analysis at Silverstone: Max Verstappen is unreachable!
“I am satisfied with the session. We spent a lot of time studying the tires and it will be essential to analyze all the data, study it and use it as best as possible for qualifying. However, I think we have good potential for tomorrow and for the race. However, it was a positive Friday, the car works well and we improved between the two sessions. There is still a lot of work to do overnight, but I hope to take one more step in the right direction tomorrow."
