F1 | Red Bull, Ricciardo: “Baku city track different from Monaco, there are many overtaking points”

Fresh from the victory in Shanghai, Daniel Ricciardo he is ready to return to Baku, where he achieved his only success of 2017 at the end of a "crazy" race, full of twists and turns. Via the official website of Red Bull, the Australian thus presented the second edition of Azerbaijan Grand Prix (in 2016 the Baku race was eligible for the European GP): “Baku is different from other street circuits, because there are many overtaking points. Unlike Monaco and Singapore, where there really aren't too many areas where you can do it".

On the characteristics of the route: "The most difficult thing in Baku is braking. There are lots of braking points where you have to work hard and brake as late as possible, but there's no room for error. Once you're committed to that braking point, if you lock a wheel, you go into the wall. The biggest challenge is to be able to attack the braking. It's a high-speed circuit. Monaco isn't that high-speed, it creates more problems for you in corners."

Finally, the Red Bull driver celebrated the resounding success last year, comparing it to another much more recent one: “Just like last week in Shanghai, the team used a fantastic strategy and made some great pit calls during the race. It was a crazy, fun race and definitely one to remember.".
