F1 | Red Bull, Perez ninth in free practice in Saudi Arabia: "There is still work to do"

Sergio Perez ended his day discovering the Jeddah circuit in Saudi Arabia in ninth position. The first two free practice sessions were useful for understanding some of the secrets of the Middle Eastern track, and the Red Bull Mexican didn't push too much, also because there is still a lot of work to do on his car before being able to compete in high levels in view of qualifications.

“It was a lot of fun out there – admits Perez. It's a really nice circuit, very fast and exciting to drive. It will be complicated in qualifying with the traffic that will be created, but I think it will be an interesting race because this is a very demanding track, if you make a mistake you can pay dearly for it, while on Saturday you will have to be in the right place at the right time. On the long runs we didn't do many laps to have a real understanding of the situation, and I don't think my time on the soft tires matters much. However, there is still work to be done on the car, we hope to find the right balance. It will be difficult to do a perfect lap, but there is also a very long race ahead of us, anything can happen on Sunday."
