Helmut Marko, super consultant for the Red Bull team, has returned to talk about the rivalry between his driver Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, declaring how the events at Silverstone have created a perhaps irreparable rift in the relationship between the two contenders for the world championship.

Verstappen, according to the Austrian team manager, is now ready to win the world championship, having matured as a driver both in performance and in his approach to competition, especially in his ability to react coolly to difficulties.

“We want to win the world title and for this we need to score as many points as possible. Max knows it, Hamilton knows it too. But something happened in the relationship between the two at Silverstone that cannot be undone so quickly. I hope they can both keep the situation under control – Marko's words to Motorsport Magazin – I think Max has shown this season that he is now really ready to win the World Championship. In Bahrain we had some problems with track limits, which cost us the victory, pole and fastest lap. The blow in Baku was a shame: Max lost the victory due to the explosion of the left rear when he was leading with authority, and he lost a lot of points there. But his attitude and relaxed way of approaching competitions show that he has taken another step towards the top,”
