F1 | Red Bull, Marko: “It's a shame that Ferrari makes so many mistakes”

The Hungarian Grand Prix, the thirteenth round of the 2022 Formula 1 World Championship and the last before the summer break, will be remembered for Ferrari's incorrect pit wall strategy which affected Charles Leclerc's race. A mistake, that of mounting hard tires, which opened the doors of success to Red Bull and Max Verstappen who were thus able to consolidate their respective leaderships in the Constructors' and Drivers' World Championships.

Discussing the Ferrari choice, Helmut Marko admitted that the Cavallino team acted incorrectly on Hungarian soil. At the same time underlining his displeasure for the frequent mistakes of the Red team which are negatively impacting the championship battle.

"Ferrari did everything wrong – declared Marko, interviewed by the Osterreich newspaper – In Budapest, for example, for the first time they didn't put the tires in the right temperature window and also chose the wrong strategy in the pits. I don't understand why they didn't use a used medium tyre, which would have been better than the hard. Instead we celebrate Toto and Mercedes as the big winners having achieved a P2 and a P3".

Continuing to talk about Ferrari he added: “It's a shame that Ferrari makes so many mistakes. They are well below their value and we are truly sorry. But they will come back because they have a very strong car".
