F1 | Red Bull, Marko dissatisfied with the Red Bull Ring management for the Renault test
Renault is completing two days of testing on the Austrian track
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Renault returned to the track for a private test session on the Red Bull Ring circuit in Austria, the same track where the world championship will make its debut in a few weeks. As is known, the track is owned by Red Bull, which took it over at the beginning of the 2000s to give it new life and bring Formula 1 back to a track on which the Circus had raced for some time.
A few weeks before the start of the world championship, the choice of the track administrators, namely Projekt Spielberg, to rent the circuit for the Renault private test did not particularly go down well with the leaders of the Austrian team. In fact, during an interview, Helmut Marko commented on the choice as follows: “It was a great achievement for Projekt Spielberg to be able to rent the circuit to a rival team. Let's say it was a generous gesture” – commented the Red Bull consultant to Speek Week in a sarcastic tone. In fact, there is not even good blood between the Austrian and French teams, due to the recent disagreements in recent years regarding Daniel Ricciardo's move between the two teams and the poor results offered by the Power Unit designed by the transalpine engineer.
