F1 | Red Bull, Marko responds to Wolff: "His words are like a tactical foul"

The challenge between Red Bull and Mercedes is increasingly tense and is played out on multiple levels, from the drivers to the managers. Toto Wolff, in the days following the Monza GP, had provoked Max Verstappen, comparing the improvident maneuver in Monza to a tactical foul to block the opponent.

Red Bull super consultant Helmut Marko, speaking to the Germans on RTL, responded to the Mercedes manager by stating that Wolff's provocations would actually be comparable to a tactical foul.

“Woff's statements are like a tactical foul, because there was no intentionality in Max's maneuver - the words of the expert Austrian manager - Verstappen was thrown from the curb which was very high, which is why he flew into Hamilton's car. It certainly wasn't done on purpose. We compare this accident to the one in Suzuka between Senna and Prost but it's different, that was intentional, here both drivers simply didn't want to give in and there was no room for both in the chicane."
