F1 | Red Bull, Marko charges the environment: "We want to win in Abu Dhabi and win the title"
“We will do everything to get him, but without any foul play,” said the Milton Keynes talent scout
Having archived the Saudi Arabia round, held last Sunday on the Jeddah city track, Formula 1 looks to the final round of the season which will take place this weekend in Abu Dhabi and which will see Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton competing at the Yas Marina Circuit tied at the top of the World Championship.
Discussing the championship contention, Helmut Marko believes that Red Bull does not start as an underdog. Indeed, he believes in a victory for Max Verstappen which would allow the Dutchman to become world champion, underlining how the Abu Dhabi track could be favorable to the Milton Keynes team.
"We look forward. We want to win in Abu Dhabi and thus take the title – declared Marko, interviewed by Sport 1 – We will do everything for this, but we will not do any wrongdoing. In Saudi Arabia we already had the pace to keep up with Hamilton, and the Abu Dhabi track should be better suited to us".
Marko made no shortage of apologies after what happened on the track between Verstappen and Hamilton, with the Austrian denying the brake test made by Dutch towards English.
"At the time of the television interview, I conveyed exactly the information I had previously received from the engineers. Obviously that wasn't correct, so I'm sorry".
