F1 | Red Bull, Helmut Marko: “We are on the right path”

Helmut Marko believes that the victory obtained by Daniel Ricciardo in the crazy Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which took place last Sunday in the streets of Baku, can give Red Bull that extra energy to win even in normal track conditions.

The Austrian talent scout from Milton Keynes stated that the Azerbaijani success was important, as it made up for a start to the season below expectations: “Now we are on the right track – Marko's thoughts in the interview given to the German newspaper Car engine and sport -  we can win with our own strength even if we haven't managed to improve our engines like Mercedes and Ferrari".

Marko praised the work done in the factory and also that on the power unit carried out by Renault: “We have made a real step forward with the chassis and have improved by a second compared to the beginning of the year. Renault has also made significant progress. We have to continue to get better. Hamilton and Vettel are three or four tenths apart. Two tenths on the Baku straight isn't much, but it made the difference. We expect a lot for Silverstone and Budapest".

On the next race weekend, scheduled in Austria on the Spielberg track from 7 to 9 July, where Red Bull will play at home, Marko said: “It is a stop&go track, where there are many straights, short corners and uphill acceleration zones. There are few places where our chassis can make a difference".
