F1 | Red Bull, Gasly: ​​“For the first time I felt fully at ease with the car”

Pierre Gasly will be forced to start from the pit lane tomorrow due to the penalty imposed on him yesterday after ignoring the stewards who called him to weigh in at the end of free practice. The Frenchman, who only took part in Q1, concluded the session in first position and is satisfied with his performance, given that after the first difficult races he finally seems to be at ease with the RB15.

“It was nice to finish Q1 in first position, but knowing that tomorrow we will start from the pit lane, the most important thing was just to get an idea of ​​the car with little fuel – Gasly admitted. I felt good and probably for the first time this year I was perfectly comfortable with the car, so I'm happy. I was confident and always work to adapt, step by step. I think we are on the right direction and it was overall a positive session: we didn't expect this pace because we didn't squeeze the power unit, we went into race mode to save some engine mileage and the performance was good. I think we have a good car and I was hoping that Max would get a good result in Q3. It's a crazy track, anything can happen, so I'll fight until the last lap. Our car is good and is capable of getting us some points tomorrow, I will push to do so."
