F1 | Red Bull, Gasly: ​​“Ferrari was much faster today”

A satisfied Pierre Gasly got out of the car after free practice in Baku. The Frenchman, despite being ninth in the standings, is positive about the work done today on the Azerbaijani circuit, despite having encountered some problems in the fast lap simulations. In terms of race pace, however, Red Bull seems to have behaved properly, and for this reason Gasly is positive ahead of Sunday's race.

“In the qualifying simulation, the laps were a bit confusing, but I think we have good potential if we can put everything together – Gasly admitted. With the high fuel load I felt comfortable and I am satisfied with the long runs. Of course we would have liked to have done FP1, but I think we managed to do everything we wanted in the afternoon practice session. We have done a lot of testing and we are on the right direction, we know we have the ability to perform well, so I am quite positive. Braking is complicated here, so I had to take the escape route a couple of times because I was looking for the limit. The car is getting better and better and I'm happy with the sensations I'm feeling now. Ferrari seemed a lot faster today, but we'll see what we can do in qualifying tomorrow, but I know I have a good car for Sunday, so that's positive."
