F1 | Red Bull, Albon fourth in the Virtual Austrian GP

The first of three events organized by Formula 1 took place yesterday, in collaboration with Codemasters regarding the 2021 edition of the Virtual GP. Unlike last year, fortunately, the real championship will begin at the end of March, and these events are organized entirely for charity. Enzo Fittipaldi he took home the Austrian GP ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne and Arthur Leclerc. In fourth place Alex Albon, current reserve driver for Red Bull, ambassador of Wings for Life, a non-profit association. Racing alongside him was the MXGP world champion Jeffrey Herlings, who was above all good at creating chaos, but as long as you play, that's fine too.

“Fourth place isn't that bad considering the starting position, it was a fun race – Albon said. Thanks to my partner Jeffrey for taking out several cars at the start. If we wanted, we qualified in fourth and sixteenth, but we ended up at the back of the grid, I don't know why it happened but it was fun to start from behind. I disconnected from the internet and lost about five seconds, too bad. I absolutely need to fix my connection before next weekend. It's nice to raise money for Wings for Life thanks to Formula 1. Now what matters is to raise more money next weekend."

“We did a good job – Herlings admitted. I don't usually play games, so being only a couple of seconds away from the rest of the grid isn't that bad. Alex and I ended up at the back of the grid, I had fun and pushed a couple of guys off the track. Despite the spin and the drive through, which forced me to stay at the back of the grid for most of the race, it was all great fun. It's a great idea and I'm happy to be able to raise money for Wings for Life while having fun."
