F1 | Ralf Schumacher: “Mick could take Hamilton's place”

During 2022, Ralf Schumacher was among the most ardent supporters of his nephew Mick Schumacher, underlining on more than one occasion the young German driver's improvements in driving and the injustice of Haas' decision to replace him with the elderly Nico Hulkenberg.

In 2023, Mick will be a reserve driver for Mercedes (and also for McLaren), and will follow the Brackley team in all the world championship events. Meanwhile, Uncle Ralf launches a suggestive hypothesis; and what if Mick even took Lewis Hamilton's place in 2024? The assumption would obviously be the retirement of the seven-time world champion, who actually seems to even want to renew with Mercedes for another two years.

“Let's assume Russell is faster than Hamilton again – the words of Ralf Schumacher to Auto Bild – At that point, would Lewis be better off continuing to race? It will be interesting for Mick to understand this..”
