F1 | Ralf Schumacher: “Mercedes cannot afford another year of failure”

F1 Schumacher Mercedes – In a long chat given to the German media, Ralf Schumacher spoke about the objectives that Mercedes has set for the 2024 Formula 1 world championship, specifying how the German team cannot afford another year of failures like those reported in 2022 and in 2023.

“Mercedes needs to get back on track as soon as possible, there's no doubt. Otherwise it would be a really bad message for them, as it would mean a clear step backwards in terms of the design of the car. They would no longer know how to build a winning car. It would be enormous damage to a brand like theirs. Furthermore, for Formula 1, it would be important to have a Mercedes in front, especially in a period of total domination like that of Red Bull and Max Verstappen. I'm sure they will be able to surprise the fans."

A total revolution is coming for the W15

As told by Toto Wolff in an interview released before Christmas, Mercedes will not use half measures for the car that will take to the track in the pre-season tests in Sakhir, Bahrain. The W15 will offer numerous innovations in almost every area, from the chassis to the aerodynamics and mechanics. A 360° revolution, launched by James Allison - back at the helm of the technical staff - who will hopefully guarantee the drivers a car capable of competing on equal terms with Max Verstappen and Red Bull.
