F1 | Raikkonen: “A little disappointed, but we'll take third place home”

Third place on the podium for Kimi Raikkonen, at the conclusion of the German GP. The Finnish driver finished behind the two Mercedes, in a race refereed by rain and safety cars, where Iceman However, he did his best. Here are his statements at the end of the day and at the press conference.

“Let's say there are clear rules, but it wasn't entirely clear when they spoke to me on the radio,” Kimi began, referring to the team order given to him to let Vettel pass, before the German left the scene with twenty laps to go. “I had the speed, but it was a moment of the race in which I was ideally on the two stops, so that's how it went. Then in the end everything changed a bit, we knew it was a treacherous track, with the possibility of rain, and slippery in several places. I was overtaking a lapped car and Valtteri took advantage of it: that was the turning point of my race. I'm a little disappointed but in the end we take home third place."

“I don't know if Ferrari was more in difficulty in the wet, I can only speak from my feelings. In the past it has always been difficult in these types of conditions, with little rain. I was surprised at how much grip there was anyway, although when you go too fast in those conditions on a track like this there's nothing you can do."

Kimi then spoke as follows regarding his pit wall strategy: “There are several options open before starting and then during the race you choose the most correct one. I was inclined to make two stops: we had good speed but it was difficult to overtake. We couldn't get close enough to make any good attempts; It was surprisingly difficult to get into the DRS zone, but we still gave our best. I lost a position when it started raining, due to a Haas maybe not seeing me, and I had to go wide to try to avoid it. Surely more could have been done today, but that's how it went."
