F1 | Raikkonen: “On this track things are never simple”

Only one tenth separates the Ferrari di Kimi Raikkonen by Friday leader Max Verstappen, at the conclusion of the first day of free practice in Montreal. In this first outing, the Finnish rider stood out more than his teammate Hag; here are the first impressions of him at the end of the day.

“I don't think it was a simple day, on this track things never are: with little load, lots of dips and rather high curbs, finding the right feeling here is quite complicated because there are particular conditions. There is little grip and you have to try to take the chicane as straight as possible… it wasn't easy but we improved towards the end, so the direction was the right one. There's still some work to do but I'm a little happier."

“I don't know if I'm strong enough to win pole: obviously we worked trying to do our job in a normal way and to be as ready as possible. But we have to see tomorrow where we will be. We will do our best, as always, and then we will get the result we deserve, we will see what it will be."

“Here the initial feeling is always quite shocking due to the very low load and the little grip, but it is a condition you have to get used to to get the car exactly to the point you want”.
