F1 | Raikkonen: “I felt I had pole within reach”
Second place for the Finnish driver from Ferrari
Pole position lost by 168 thousandths Kimi Raikkonen, who however placed his car in the front row, next to that of his teammate Hag, in the departure of Hungarian GP. The Finn admitted to having made a mistake in his last attempt, but said he was satisfied with how he did it SF70H improved over the weekend. These are his immediate impressions at the end of the Qualifying.
“To be honest today didn't go too well. The start of the lap wasn't bad but at the end I hit the curb at the chicane and lost a little bit of time. However it was a decent lap, enough for second place. A little disappointed because I felt I had pole within reach, but I didn't make it. If we look at the lap times this is a track that suits us, but yesterday the day wasn't so simple. I'm happy that I was able to improve my car for qualifying and we are satisfied with the reliability. So far so good, but tomorrow the race will be long and the battle will be tough."
“We have a long way to go in the race with both cars and we have to try to maintain the positions.”
