F1 | Raikkonen: “I wanted to win”

A few words and a bitter admission of what could have been but wasn't. Kimi Raikkonen, poleman on Saturday in Monaco and leader of the race until his pit stop, does not hide his disappointment for second place. The pilot of the Ferrari, who entered the pits first, had to leave room under the spotlight for his teammate Hag, who took advantage of the Finn's early stop to accumulate an advantage that later proved crucial for the victory.

“We've just finished the race, we still have to look at things again, that's how it went anyway”, were the first words of Iceman. “It's a result far from what I would have wanted, in short, obviously I would have liked to win”.

“I don't know if the strategy penalized me, but obviously it wasn't ideal to end up behind a lapped car after I came out of the pits, but that wasn't in my control. For the team, the double is certainly what we wanted but, on a personal level, I wanted to win."
