F1 | Raikkonen: “I hit Hamilton, just the penalty”
“I took my 10 seconds and got back to fighting, that's how it's done.”
Third step of the podium for Kimi Raikkonen in British GP, behind Hag e Hamilton. The pilot Ferrari he was the author of a good, decisive start, which at turn 3 saw him however protagonist of a close encounter with the reigning world champion, hit (involuntarily) and "sunk" to the last position. The race then had a decidedly more positive outcome for both of them than it seemed at the time, with Kimi and Lewis busy fighting to obtain the best possible result. Here are the statements from Iceman at the end of the race.
“At the third corner I got stuck and ended up hitting Lewis, and it was probably my fault that he turned: it was my mistake but sometimes it happens and it wasn't an ideal race for me. The mistake was mine, so I deserved the penalty, I took my 10 seconds and went back to fighting, that's how it's done."
“Certainly without the mistake and the penalty I would have done even better, but I tried and did everything possible to get the best result. There may also be opposing views on what happened, but that's how it happened."
