F1 | Racing Point, Perez: “I'm very happy, it's an encouraging start”

Sergio Perez had an excellent day in Bahrain. The Racing Point driver ranked in fourth position after the first two free practice sessions in Sakhir, showing not only the excellent performance of the car in qualifying configuration, but also in the race pace. Checo, mindful of his second place two weeks ago, is certainly intent on doing everything he can to once again aspire to a position of honor, aware however that his opponents are quite close in terms of lap times.

“I'm happy with what we did today – Perez admitted. It's an encouraging start to the weekend, but it's clear that the times are very tight with the other drivers, one or two tenths could make a big difference in qualifying. We'll see tomorrow, but I think the most important factor this weekend will be tire management. This could make a difference. The red flag affected everyone's long runs in the second session, but we were still able to learn a lot about the behavior of the tyres. Tonight we will analyze the data and see what to improve in view of qualifying and how tire wear can influence our race strategy."
