F1 | Racing Bulls, Tsunoda blocked: "The team didn't deserve it"

Budapest - The Racing Bulls gets both cars into Q3, but only one reaches the checkered flag. Daniel Ricciardo concludes Q1 with a surprising first position, with a gap of thirty-seven thousandths from Hamilton e Verstappen – both with identical chrono. An exceptional result, that of Daniel, which arrived following the accident Sergio Perez, in barrier with his Red Bull, almost as if to remind Christian horner that he is still a valid candidate for that seat that, years ago, was his. In Q2 he remained ninth, and confirmed his position in Q3, placing himself ahead of his teammate.

Ricciardo: “We can do better in the race”

“It was definitely a long and difficult qualifying; I'm relieved to know that everyone is okay after the incidents that occurred. While we were on track in Q1 it started to rain more, but then there was a red flag and the track dried out a bit. Then we went out again we had the best time, a good time. I'm happy that we managed to get into Q3 with both cars, as we were fast all weekend. If there hadn't been another red flag in Q3 and we could have pushed on the new tyres, I think we could have gained a couple of more positions. Looking ahead to tomorrow, I don't think we will have to try to hang on to the starting positions, but I firmly believe we can do even better in the race, so I'm looking forward to it."

Tsunoda: “I'm disappointed, I'm sorry for the team”

Yuki tsunoda he stays on top of his teammate's times, but halfway through Q3 he loses control of the car in turn 5, which even glides towards the barriers. His VCARB01 is destroyed, but Yuki retains tenth place.

“It's a real shame and I'm disappointed. My lap in Q3 was really good, I felt great. I was at the limit and half the tire ended up on the grass, which is normal, but given that it was wet the reaction was exaggerated. Up until that bend the ride was excellent. I'm sorry because everyone on the team deserves a better position for all the work we've done. The car was good, the ride was solid and I think it could have put us in a great position for tomorrow. I congratulate the team for managing to progress to Q3 with both cars."
