F1 | Sochi qualifying, Russell 3rd: “We did a good job once again”

By now George Russell has become a pleasant reality. The British talent working for Williams has in fact played yet another great qualifying, managing to achieve the third fastest time on Saturday in Sochi. Russell only surrendered to poleman Lando Norris and Lando Norris' Ferrari, taking away the luxury of putting future teammate Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes behind him. The standard bearer of the Grove team promises battle in view of tomorrow's race, where he will want to try to defend his position and therefore maintain his podium position.

"It's crazy, it's the second time I'm in the Top 3. We did a good job again – said Russell – We chose the right timing and tires. It was complicated because it was a matter of a few centimeters, you just had to go slightly wider and you ended up outside. Congratulations to Lando and Carlos and I'm excited for tomorrow. Yesterday we had good pace, one of the best of the year, with high fuel load and I think Mercedes is stronger. It will be a good battle, we will try to take advantage of our speed on the straight and we will also aim for the podium once. We have nothing to lose".
