F1 | Pujolar: “Alfa Romeo believes in eighth place in the constructors' championship”

In a chat given to the microphones of Motorsport-Total.com, Xevi Pujolar did not change the objectives of the Alfa Romeo team for the season finale one iota, specifying how the entire team is doing its utmost to reach eighth place in the world constructors' championship, which would give extra "resources" to dedicate to the development of the car that will take to the track in 2022. Despite the large gap from Williams, which was good at opening a gap immediately after the summer break, the head of the team's track engineers from Hinwil believes that the Italian-Swiss team has all the qualities to recover the ground lost in the last two/three months.

“We can reach eighth place in the constructors' championship, certainly,” said the Catalan coach. “We will try to reach the goal until the end and then we will do the math. In recent years we have always won a lot of points in Brazil, which is why we want to confirm that we can exploit this statistic in our favor. I haven't seen the current weather forecast for Brazil yet, but it is a track where there are always different scenarios and opportunities, especially with Sprint Qualifying. We will prepare well, as usual. I think we have the pace, the riders and the team to be able to secure this important result."
