F1 | Pirelli, Isola: “High risk of blistering in Monza”

Il Italian Grand Prix approaches and Mario isola, Racing Car manager Pirelli, took stock of the tires: “At Monza with the 2017 single-seaters we could see similar or lower top speeds compared to 2016, but still with very high loads on the tires due to the extra downforce imposed by the new regulations” – declared Isola. "The choice of compounds will also be influenced by the risk of blistering on the tyres, given the numerous braking areas in a straight line, with the camber area on the shoulder tending to overheat”.

Pirelli has chosen to bring tires for the Monza weekend P Zero White medium, P Zero Yellow soft e P Zero Red supersoft, exactly like last year. Isola identified high temperatures as one of the keys to Sunday's race: “In the past the Monza race was affected by the weather and, given the torrid summer in Italy, we can expect high temperatures over the weekend. This factor could influence the behavior of the tyres. Free practice will therefore be fundamental for teams to study different possible strategies".
