F1 | Pirelli concludes 2026 tyre testing in Barcelona with Antonelli and Tsunoda
Next appointment at Fiorano on 19th and 20th June with Ferrari
Kimi Antonelli e Yuki tsunoda were the protagonists of the last day of Pirelli tests on the Barcelona circuit, dedicated to the development of the tyres in view of the 2026 season. Formula 1. The two official pilots, respectively for Mercedes Benz e Red Bull, took part in the session with mule cars adapted for testing. The programme focused, once again, on the evaluation of different constructions and compounds, in particular the harder ones of the future range. A total of 300 laps were completed during the day: 150 by the Bolognese driver, whose best time was 1: 14.903, and 150 from Tsunoda, who set a time of 1:16.839.
Mario Island, Pirelli Motorsport Director, commented on the progress of the programme: “The test enters an important phase, given that we will have to homologate the constructions by September 1st, while for the compounds we will have until December 1st. Barcelona, with its technical characteristics, represents a demanding test bench, and the data collected will also be useful for the next session at Silverstone, scheduled after the British Grand Prix”.
Isola thanked the teams involved, namely Mercedes, Red Bull and Racing Bulls, who had already been busy in the previous days, underlining the commitment shown in a period packed with events on the calendar. The next Pirelli test for the 2026 project will be held on 19 e 20nd June on the trail of Flower, where will it be Classic Ferrari for sale to test some solutions for wet tyres.
